The Election Commission is going to implement the code of conduct from 1 March for the presidential election to be held on 9 March and the vice presidential election to be held on 17 March.
The commission has published a notification on Tuesday and informed that the code of conduct will be applied from February 28 to March 19 for the election of 882 voters including 332 of the federal parliament and 550 of the state assembly.
The Code of Conduct will apply to the Government of Nepal, the Prime Minister and Ministers, Provincial Governments, Chief Ministers and Ministers, union, provincial and local level employees, employees of security agencies, employees of government, semi-government and public organizations.
Similarly, the code of conduct shall apply to political parties and their fraternal organizations, candidates and candidates' representatives, representatives working at polling and counting stations, persons holding public office, media establishments, their employees, journalists and voters.
The commission has requested everyone to maintain the credibility of the election by following the code of conduct.
