With the instruction of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha visited centenary figure Satya Mohan Joshi and learnt about his health condition and wishes.
Minister Shrestha also inquired about Joshi's needs and problems. He shared the information that government had planned to establish the Satya Mohan Joshi Community School in recognition to his contribution to Nepali culture and literature. "We will establish the school wherever you want it across the country. The school to be established in your name will be developed like the Durbar High School in the capital," Minister Shrestha shared government's plan.
Similarly, the government would incur the cost of medical treatment of culture expert Joshi. Two attendants would be provided by the government for his care.
In response, centenary figure Joshi expressed happiness over the President remembering him. "Among the writers in the country, I'm now living a long life. I've happy to learn that the President affixed the cancellation mark on a stamp bearing my name. I wish such schools be established in the area where children are deprived of education," he added.
Similarly, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, also informed that they had named a roadway from Pulchowk to Gwarko via Mangalbazar the Satyamohan Joshi Marga.
The centenary figure Joshi is turning 102-year-old from May 13, 2021.
