The government has said it is constantly making efforts for the safe rescue of Nepalis in Sudan in the wake of the recently developed situation there and bringing them back home.

Out of 31 Nepalis, who came in contact with Nepali Embassy in Cairo in this connection, 19 have been brought to Jeddah City with the support of Saudi Arabia on April 30 from Port Sudan, according to the Foreign Ministry.

Similarly, among 19 Nepalis who have reached Jeddah, six are deputed at the Dubai branch of the employer company, while 13 are waiting to return to Nepal.

Eight would arrive in Kathmandu via Air Arabia today while preparation is underway to bring the remaining five from Jazeera Airways on Thursday, the Ministry added.

Moreover, the government has continued efforts to rescue six Nepalis out of the remaining 11, who are in contact with the Nepali Embassy in Cairo, from Sudan via Jeddah. The remaining three Nepalis have been kept at a hotel in Port Sudan safely with the management of the employer company and two others at a safer place in Egypt, reads a press release issued by the Ministry on Wednesday.
