Eight people died in a road accident in Pyuthan district on Monday noon while they were returning from Swargadwari temple in the community.
All the deceased were passengers traveling in the ill-fated vehicle that accidentally fell off some 50 meters at Takura of Swargadwari-Bhringi road section in Swargadwari Municipality-4 at around 2:45 pm, according to the District Police Office, Pyuthan.
The identity of seven of eight deceased was already established while one remains to be ascertained, said Chief of the District Police Office, Pyuthan and DSP Subash Khadka.
The deceased have been identified as Sarita Sharma, 35, of Kothari in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City in Dang district, and her two sons Bishal Pokharel, 14, and Bikash Pokharel, 9.
Similarly, Govinda Shah, 40, of Gadhawa of Lamahi Municipality-7 in Dang district, and his spouse Radhika Nepali, 30, and their nine-year-old son Aditya Shah also died in the incident, according to the police.
Also, Tara Bahadur Kumal, 49, of Lamahi Municipality-4 who was the car's driver was killed in the road mishap, police said, adding that the identity of a deceased person was yet to be established.
