Eight ordinances tabled in the National Assembly

Eight different ordinances have been tabled in today's meeting of the National Assembly. On behalf of the Home Minister, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Govinda Prasad Sharma 'Koirala' introduced the Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2021 AD, Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Ordinance, 2021 AD and Nepal Police and State Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination). The first amendment ordinance, 2021 was submitted.

On behalf of Health and Population Minister Virodh Khatiwada, he had also submitted the Medicine (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2022 AD, and the Ordinance on the Protection of Health Workers and Health Institutions (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2022 AD.

On behalf of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renukumari Yadav, he also introduced the Railway Ordinance, 2021 AD, Ordinance to amend some Acts related to Criminal Offenses and Criminal Procedure, 2021 AD and Ordinance to Amend Some Acts against Sexual Violence, 2021 AD.

In the Upper House, Speaker Timilsina briefed on the letter received from the President's Office regarding the formation of the Council of Ministers, assignment of duties and nomination of members of the National Assembly on different dates. The meeting also passed a condolence resolution on the demise of the former member of the National Assembly Laxmidas Manandhar, the first member of the Constituent Assembly Jagat Bahadur Tajpuriya, the second member of the Constituent Assembly Duman Singh Thapa and former member of the House of Representatives Bishnu Raj Acharya. The meeting has been adjourned till 5 pm today.
