Engineers associated with the Central Level Project Implementation Unit (CLPIU) of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) have decided to return and start reconstruction works. The engineers had launched a protest citing they had not received the extra facilities that the government had pledged to provide annually.

The engineers were hired by the National Reconstruction Authority for the reconstruction of the structures that were damaged in the earthquake of April 25, 2015.

In a meeting held today at the NRA, the government has agreed to provide the disgruntled engineers with telecom and transportation allowances. The engineers will also be provided with daily allowance. There has also been an agreement to provide the engineers with technical training as and when required.

The meeting was held in the presence of Sushil Gyewali, Chief Executive Officer of National Reconstruction Authority. The agreement between the authority and the protesting engineers was signed by CLPIU Building Chief Shyam Kishor Singh on behalf of the authority and Avinash Amar on behalf of the protesting engineers.

After signing the agreement, Amar expressed his happiness on the agreement being signed and mentioned the protesting engineers would get back to work and bring a smile on the faces of service seekers within a month.
