Incessant rainfall in the lower belt and snowfall in the higher belt of Humla district for some days have left 50 sheep and goats dead in Patan – the border of Simikot and Namkha.

The continuous snowfall in Patan located somewhere between Ranikharka, Namkha, and Simkot-8 caused the death of 50 sheep and goats of Rol Bahadur Budha in Simikot-8.

Budha informed that 50 out of 150 sheep and goats died on the way back home from high hill grazing land due to excessive cold caused by incessant snowfall.

He has urged the concerned authorities to provide support in the treatment of cattle. “The abrupt snowfall that occurred after decades has troubled his livelihood with the loss of his source of income. A sheep is sold up to Rs 10,000 in the district”, he said.
