The Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN) has reiterated its call to scrap of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 2029 BS.
A two-day-long meeting of the FECOFUN held in Hetauda made such demand by issuing 20-point declaration.
Organizing a news conference in Hetauda, President of FECOFUN Bharati Pathak shared the declaration saying that the tariffs charged on forest produces from the province governments should be scrapped adding that income tax imposed on forest users' group should also be ended since the groups were non-profit making social organizations.
Likewise, the Federation has sought for management of human-animal conflict and compensation to the consumers who are displaced due to wildlife.
The meeting has also decided to conduct FECOFUN's 7th National General Convention from May 23 to 25 in Kathmandu.
