Police in Kaski district arrested five people for slaughtering an ox from Machapuchchre Rural Municipality-2.
One of the arrested has been identified as Kul Bahadur BK (56) of the same municipality while the names of the other four have not been disclosed.
After getting a tip that they were slaughtering an ox in Haiman Tamang's farm, security personnel deployed from the Sardikhola-based Police Office nabbed them on Sunday night.
The police also seized axe, sickle, three khukuri, and two knives that were used to slaughter the ox.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out, informed the police.
