Minister for Forests and Environment Pradeep Yadav has taken a decision to give for using the forest area in the Saptari and Udayapur districts for the construction of a strategic road project.
The Kalyanpur-Gaighat electoral constituency strategic road project is a national priority project.
The Forests Minister has made a decision to provide 15.839 hectares of land under the national forest in the Saptari and Udayapur districts to be used for the construction of the Kalyanpur-Gaighat road section. The forest land is conditionally given to the promoter of the road project, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Minister Yadav's secretariat said.
The Ministry said that a decision has been made to give approval for removing some 3,219 trees in the national forest for the construction of the roadway. Minister Yadav made the decision to provide the land under the national forest to be used for road construction after getting information that the road construction works had hit a snag for not being able to use the forest land.
The road construction would now become easier after the Ministry-level approval for using the forest land and removing the trees for road construction.
