Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari said Nepal Scout had been playing vital role in rescue and relief distribution following a disaster.
Addressing the 72nd anniversary of Nepal Scout at Lainchaur today, the former President believed that the activities carried out by the Scouts inspires new generation for positive thought. Scout helps prepare disciplined people along with intellectual development, she reminded.
Bhandari further appreciated the expansion of the organization of Nepal Scout to all villages and cities. It is historic achievement in deed, she added. On the occasion, she also provided the medals to the scouters with long-term service.
National coordinator of Nepal Scout Lok Bahadur Bhandari however complained that although the previous government had brought forth programmes to expand Scout to 13,700 schools across the country, present government failed to continue it.
