Phurba Tenzing Sherpa, a Nepalese climber who has climbed Mt. Everest 15 times, has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of Italy's National Park.
The Gran Sasso and Monti Della Laga national park has appointed a 3-time world record holder Sherpa as its Goodwill Ambassador. Park president Tommasso Navarra handed over an appointment letter to Sherpa as the goodwill ambassador in a program organized by We Will Rise Foundation in Kathmandu today.
It is expected that this type of appointment of Nepali climbers will help in expanding the tourism relations between Nepal and European countries in the future. In that event, a commitment was expressed to further increase the cooperation between Nepal and Italy in the coming days.
