The Gaijatra festival, which started in Bhaktapur on 27th July, has been completed today.
Narender Prasad Joshi, a local Nike, informed that the Gaijatra festival, which started after worshiping Taleju on the day of Janai Purnima and taking out cows in the evening, ended after worshiping Taleju again today. On the day after Janaipurnima, the Gaijatra is held in memory of the deceased, but on other days, the Gaijatra is celebrated by presenting Ghintang Ghisinach and Vyanga.
At the end of the Jatra today, Ghintang Ghisi dance, Hanuman dance, Makpyakh dance, Jangali dance, Katun, playing cards were performed, and in the Bhairav temple, women dressed in Newari dhoti hakupatasi, lined up in a queue, also lit the lamp.
Since it was also Shri Krishna Janmashtami, children and youth of Bhaktapur worshiped Narayan and lit pala lamps on their heads, hands and bodies.
