The Government of Nepal has granted conditional permission for emergency use of COVID-19 vaccine manufactured in China.
The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) took the decision in this regard on Wednesday to allow the emergency usage of Vero cell, also known as SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine Inactivated, manufactured by Beijing Institute of Biological Production (BIBP), China under Sinopharm.
Meanwhile, the government has carried on with the vaccination drive against COVID-19 with the Covishield vaccine manufactured in India.
The Government of India has provided one million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca's Covishield vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India as a grant.
