Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, asserted that the incumbent government was focused on ensuring good-governance and thus was advancing towards justice and prosperity.
At a press meet organized by the Press Centre, Dang chapter in Dang today, Minister Sharma called for cooperation from all quarters in the government's battle against the corruption. "The way incumbent government has expedited the investigation into gold smuggling scam, fake Bhutanese refugee scam and other cases of corruption, it needs cooperation from all sides towards this."
Sharma, also Spokesperson of the government, commended the constructive role of media bringing out such serious issues in public which, she opined, that further helped in investigation into those scams.
Stating that the government was seriously working towards combating corrupting, she cited Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda's stance on anti-corruption in which the head of the government had pledged that those indulged in corruption would not be spared be it party's person or close kins.
According to her, the federal government could not arrange adequate budget for developmental sector of Dang due to recession in national economy.
Furthermore, the Minister shared that a directives on the regulation of social networking sites was in the offing and urged journalists and stakeholders in the district to furnish suggestions in this regard.
Minister Sharma informed that telecom service was being extended to Musinaka of Rajpur which is considered to be a remote place in Dang.
Moreover, she said that contract of proposed four-lane Ghorahi-Tulsipur road was terminated in consensus of the contractor for not delivering on the road project.
Repair and maintenance of the road was accelerated while construction of the proposed four-lane road would be taken forward in a new modality, according to the Minister.
