Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Dr Beduram Bhusal, said government has prioritized agriculture and livestock sectors.
Inaugurating a veterinary hospital at Balchautara of Shuklagandaki-5 in Tanahu district on Friday, Minister Dr Bhusal viewed government was serious towards issues of animal health. Healthy livestock is essential to ensure hygienic livestock product, he reminded.
According to him, agriculture and livestock are major sources of income in Nepal, so these areas deserve proper attention from government. "Government is working for the welfare of farmers. Chemical fertilizer was supplied to farmers on time this year," he shared.
On the occasion, Minister for Agriculture and Land Management in Gandaki Province, Mahendra Dhwoj GC, viewed the province government was bound to work on limited resources and means. Farmers' problems should be identified and addressed on time, he added.
Mayor of Shuklagandaki Municipality, Krishna Raj Pandit, expressed worry that if the local government fails to encourage genuine farmers, they would leave the homeland.
The veterinary hospital was constructed at the cost of Rs 12.5 million.
