Health camp at Pokhara Old Age Home by Military Hospital

On the occasion of the 25th foundation day of Pokhara Old Age Home, Military Hospital Phulbari Pokhara has organized a free health camp.

A 13-member team including Dr. Amrit Ghimire, Dr. Swetha Rajyalakshmi Rana, Dr. Shishir Shrestha, Dr. Abhishek Thapa, and Manager Bijnan Raj Pokhrel of the hospital examined the health of the senior citizens at the camp.

Health check-ups of 53 senior citizens of Pokhara Old Age Home and surrounding areas were conducted in the camp and medicines and nutritious food worth Rs. 200,000 were distributed. Inaugurating the camp, Army Technical Assistant Dr. Bhuvan Raj Kunwar said that the army has been dedicating itself to social service in collaboration with civil society.

Giving information that a health check-up camp has been conducted in the old age home under the direction of Vijaypur Command Army Chief Baburam Shrestha, he said that the army has been assisting the state and the citizens in all calamities.

Pushparaj Poudel of the Ministry of Social Development, Gandaki said that the ministry has been fulfilling its social responsibility by providing assistance in the field of senior citizens, women, and children.

Chairman of the Pokhara Old Age Home, Kusum Keshav Parajuli, urged the Army Hospital to conduct health camps in the coming days as well. Treasurer Dharma Gurung informed that there are 55 destitute, helpless, and neglected senior citizens in the old age home at present.
