The residents of Thangpal Rural Municipality in the district are very happy with the exemplary service that they are now receiving in healthcare. Of the 12 local levels, this Municipality is leading in terms of providing quality health care to its citizens.

Kalpana Pandit, a local, expressed happiness after receiving the services of Panchpokhari Primary Hospital in the municipality. The hospital was set up with support from the Bagmati Province Ministry of Social Development.

A resident of ward no 6 in the Rural Municipality, Bal Bahadur Acharya had been suffering from asthma for a long time. Earlier, he had been undergoing treatment in Melamchi, Dhulikhel, and Kathmandu. He is now happy to get the same service at his village itself.

The hospital was operated as COVID-19 Hospital during the Corona Virus pandemic. But it is now providing all kinds of medical and health services.

Chief of the hospital, Dr. Sonali Khatiwada, said that despite limited resources, the hospital is still providing other services along with services for the COVID-19 infected.

All the eight wards of Panchpakhori have well-equipped safe maternity centers (birthing centers). Chairperson Tashi Lama claimed that the municipality, which has been providing free ambulance service, has been a leader in the field of health care in the district. "We are providing free medical treatment by giving top priority to health care of the citizens."

Citizens do not expect big development, but only basic facilities like education and health are provided then they will be happy at the local level, he said.
