The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) today reported only 99 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,806.
Of the newly infected, 42 are females while 57 are males.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 66 cases of coronavirus — 48 in Kathmandu, 13 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur— in the past 24 hours. Of the total new cases reported from across the country in the last 24 hours, 66.67 per cent of new cases are from Kathmandu valley only. Of the newly infected in the valley, 32 are reported to be females and 34 males.
In the past 24 hours, 248 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by MoHP. Altogether, 267,812 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Saturday.
Currently, the country has 1,959 active cases with a 98.5 per cent recovery rate.
The nationwide death toll from the disease has remained 2,035 with no death reported in the last 24 hours, the MoHP shared.
Earlier, the MoHP on Friday had reported 105 cases of coronavirus infection taking the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,707.
More than 105.45 million people have been reported to be infected by novel coronavirus while at least 2,298,055 people have died from the respiratory contagion worldwide, a Reuters tally showed.
