The Armed Police Force Parsa has started high surveillance at all the checkpoints in Parsa bordering India.
Ganapati Kamal Timilsina of the Armed Police Force No. 13 Battalion said that the surveillance has been intensified at all the border checkpoints of Parsa in view of the upcoming local elections. He said that high vigilance has been started in the border area to reduce various criminal activities in the border area.
Chief of the battalion and Superintendent of Armed Police, Tej Prasad Pokharel, said that high vigilance has been maintained in all the border areas by mobilizing all the subordinate units as per the need. There are five security base camps, 17 border security posts (BOPs) and three border monitoring posts (FOVs) in the district.
According to Pokharel, the main plan is to control criminal activities and arms smuggling in the border area.
Goods worth Rs. 2.5 million under control
A team of the Armed Police Force (APF) has seized a truck with various goods worth Rs 1.7 million smuggled into Nepal.
The truck (Na 7 Kha 3410) heading towards Pathalaya from Birgunj and the plastic bags, clothes, arms, machinery and groceries loaded in the truck were seized by the Armed Police Force and handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathalaya Bara for necessary action, according to Armed Police Force No. 13 Gana Parsa.
