Home Minister Khand seeks everyone's support in fight against COVID-19 pandemic

After being sworn in on Tuesday, the newly-appointed Minister of Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand assumed office today.

Minister Khand was welcomed at the Ministry of Home Affairs by Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane; Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa Kshetri; Inspector General of Armed Police Force Shailendra Khanal; and Chief of National Investigation Department Ganesh Prasad Adhikari, among others officials.

While speaking to media persons, the newly-appointed home minister mentioned that everybody needs to provide their support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. He said this is the biggest pandemic that the country has faced till date and everyone should unite to control its spread.

Minister Khand further stated that it is necessary for all concerned authorities and people to fulfil their responsibilities in a serious manner to protect the citizens from the coronavirus. He also applauded the health workers, security personnel, and media person for fulfilling their duties by putting their lives at risk.

He also mentioned that the government will be committed to allocating the required budget for the control of the coronavirus pandemic and treatment of patients who have been infected with the virus.
