India has stated that it has conveyed its views on the border dispute to the Government of Nepal

The ruling and opposition parties have urged the government to engage in diplomatic dialogue with India after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was expanding roads in Lipulek. However, the government has not yet spoken formally to stop the road expansion yet.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu issued a statement on Saturday stating that the Government of India's position on the Nepal-India border was well-known, stable, and clear. A spokesman for the embassy said the government of Nepal has been informed of this.
