Foreign Minister NP Saud has urged the journalists to write factual and fair news in order to contribute positively to society.
Inaugurating the convention of Nepal Press Union Kailali chapter here Monday, Minister Saud, who is also the central member of the Nepali Congress, lauded that journalists in Sudurpaschim Province had contributed significantly in the national journalism.
On a different note, he viewed Nepal should be able to reap benefits from the emerging economies of India and China.
On the occasion, NC central member Nrip Bahadur Od stressed the need for ensuring impartiality in journalism.
Other speakers including former vice president of Nepal Press Union, Damodar Dawadi spoke on the importance of journalism. The convention is electing a new working committee.
