Karnali Province has announced a public holiday on the occasion of National Paddy Day on Tuesday. The decision to announce a public holiday on National Paddy Day was taken by the Council of Ministers of Karnali today.
Nepal celebrates Asadh 15 (late June or early July) every year as the National Paddy Day.
Besides Jumla, the public holiday has been announced in all other nine districts of the province. All government offices, banks and financial institutions, and educational institutions will remain closed on Tuesday in the nine districts.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Karnali Province, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, mentioned that the provincial government had decided to give a public holiday on the occasion to encourage the farmers.
