Kins vandalise construction company following death of boy in Makawanpur

Four wheeler vehicle, construction equipment, two mixture trucks torched

Relatives of the boy who drowned in a trench filled with water vandalised and torched vehicles and equipment parked on the premises of a construction company office in Bagmati Rural Municipality-8 of Makawanpur district today. 

A 10-year-old boy who had gone swimming in a trench filled with water drowned in Shantipur, Bagmati-8 on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sagar Saru, son of local Lok Bahadur Saru.

The boy became unconscious while swimming in the hole dug by Kalika Construction Company for the construction purpose. The construction site is at a distance of 500 metres from the home of the deceased.

The boy was rushed to Betini Health Post, Phaparbari where he died in the course of treatment.

After the boy died at the health post, his relatives stormed the construction company and torched a bolero four-wheeler vehicle (Ba 18 Cha 5937) and a construction equipment JCV (Ba 2 Ka 5820), two mixture trucks — (Na 1 Ka 4550) and (Na 1 Ka 4565) — parked on the premises. They also allegedly broke the window glass of the construction company office.
