CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal said leaders must be honest when it comes to building the nation.
Addressing a programme organized by All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) Kathmandu District Committee in Kathmandu on Tuesday, leader Nepal, also former Prime Minister, expressed his dismay that the top leaders of political leaders were not honest towards country and thus emphasized honesty.
"There are plenty of problems in the country. The top problem is that we are not as honest as we are supposed to be. We have not kept the country and people at the centre stage. If anyone offends our honour, it will not be acceptable to any Nepalis," cautioned Nepal.
He expressed displeasure that the political leaders were more focused on personal interest rather than being honest towards country.
Expressing his concern on the danger looming large over the political achievements and gains obtained through repeated struggles and sacrifices, he called for unity among the people to protect it.
According to him, the constitution that was promulgated after rigorous efforts had addressed several agendas guaranteeing rights to many. "Although there was no lacking while writing and promulgating constitution, there is a problem regarding its implementation which should not be the case," he remarked. ---
