Locals are scared after seeing tigers around the settlement. Nawalparasi (East of Bardaghat Susta) Residents of the area are terrified after seeing a tiger around Dumkibas under Binai Triveni village municipality of Nawalpur.
The municipality has issued a notice on Thursday appealing to the locals to remain vigilant after seeing tigers in the area around Dumkibas and Baghuwan. Dambar Bahadur GC, chairman of the village municipality, said that the tiger settlement came from the park in the intermediate zone of Chitwan National Park. According to locals, tigers have been spotted in Dumkibas, Baghuwan and Arunkhola Dumkibas forest area of East-West Highway.
Jit Bahadur BK, 61, of Heralu in Binai Community Forest in Binai Triveni Gaonpalika-1 had died last month after being attacked by a tiger. As tigers have been spotted around the forest settlements again, they have been appealed not to walk near the forest area at night and not to walk alone as much as possible, said village chairman GC.
As the tigers have recently caused human and animal damage, the village municipality has written to the Division Forest Office to control the tigers in the area and take them to the park, said GC. "The locals are scared because of the tigers. We have already written to the park through the Division One office to control the tigers," he said.
The settlements adjoining the intermediate zone of Chitwan National Park of Gaindakot Municipality including Binai Triveni Municipality, Madhyabindu Municipality, Kawasoti Municipality, Devachuli Municipality are always in danger of wildlife.
