Lumbini Buddhist University's new infrastructure being constructed in Devdaha

The Lumbini Buddhist University has established the Office of Dean at Devdaha today.

With the government's decision of providing around 90 bighas land at Devdaha for the University, the University established the office. 

The government had handed over the ownership of the land for the central structures of the University only few days ago. 

The office of the Dean of School of Development Studies and Applied Sciences under the University has been established at Devdaha. The University has made preparation to build new infrastructures along with Tapoban there. 

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel today inaugurated the Office of the Dean and carried out onsite visit of the construction site. 

On the occasion, Minister Poudel said that the Buddhist University should be made world renowned. The government would invest for the development of the University, he added.

Similarly, lawmaker Chhabilal Bishwokarma opined that priority should be given in infrastructure development of the University, stressing that it should be developed as the plan of long-term importance.

Likewise, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Lumbini Province, Leela Giri, expressed belief that the Buddhist University would help in tourism development of Devdaha. 

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr Hridaya Ratna Bajracharya, informed that the University has started classes of three subjects—Agroforestry, Environment and Development Studies from current academic season.  

The University, which has been running classes in Butwal and Lumbini, has also decided to establish office of the Dean in Butwal.
