It has been reported that a woman was brutally murdered by her husband. In Dhanusha's Bateshwar rural municipality ward no. 5, 27-year-old Rita Devi Yadav, wife of Birendra Yadav of Shantipur, was killed last night.
Rita was taken to Kavya Hospital but she died during treatment. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pradip Bahadur Chhetri, the investigation started after the incident revealed that it was Birendra who killed his wife with an ax and threw the ax into a pond.
DSP Chhetri said that after questioning the husband, he confessed to killing his wife with an axe. The police said that the axe used in the murder was recovered and Birendra was taken into custody for further investigation.
