Man arrested for trafficking of two women

Police arrested Bishnu Bahadur Thapa, 57, of Thori in Parsa district on Thursday for being involved in woman trafficking.

Thapa was previously sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and fined Rs. 25,000 by the Parsa District Court on March 30, 2008. However, he managed to escape from police custody. A new complaint against Thapa had then been lodged to the police on September 3, 2008 for taking two women to a dormitory in Mumbai, India.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal, a team from the District Police Office, Parsa arrested Thapa while he was hiding in Katari Municipality-3 of Udayapur. Thapa has currently been handed over to the district court in Parsa.
