Medical supplies arrive from UK and Finland

The medical supplies being provided by the United Kingdom and Finland to help Nepal in the fight against the coronavirus have arrived in the country. The supplies that were delivered through a special flight were handed over to Minister of Health and Population, Hridayesh Tripathi, at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, handed over 260 units of ventilators and 19,200 pieces of eye-protection gear to Minister Tripathi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed. Similarly, Pertti Anttinen, Finnish Ambassador to Nepal, handed over 3.5 lakh pieces of FFP 2 masks, one lakh KN 95 masks, and over 2.32 lakh units of surgical gloves to Minister Tripathi.

The Finnish ambassador also handed over 30,000 PPEs, 24.98 lakh pieces of face masks and 3.5 lakh units of face shields.

On the occasion, Minister Tripathi extended his gratitude to both the British and Finnish governments for the aid and mentioned that this also revealed the cordial relations that Nepal enjoyed with the UK and Finland. Meanwhile, Ambassadors Pollitt and Anttinen said that they were honoured to be able to help Nepal in the fight against the coronavirus and said that they would provide as much help as possible in the future.
