Memo submitted to DPM Mahaseth to resolve border issues

The International Border Concern Group today submitted a memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Raghubir Mahaseth seeking a solution to the border-related issues in Kanchanpur district.

The group coordinator Pallavraj Bhatta-led delegation met with DPM Mahaseth at the Ministry today and urged him to initiate to tally the strip map with the map of British rule after the merger of Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur (Naya Muluk) to Nepal.

On the occasion, DPM Mahaseth received the memo in presence of representatives of the Home Ministry and stated that issues would be resolved in coordination with the Survey Department. He further said that the bilateral border issues would be resolved through diplomatic dialogue with India within the next 10 days.

The Indian side is obstructing locals in the use of Nepali territory at different places in Dodhara, Chandani and even to construct the road section in Pachui of Belauri Municipality-8 in the district, the locals said.
