Newly-appointed Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has assumed office today. After assuming office the minister requested all concerned to work for the development of the country without any self-centred motive.

Minister Bhusal mentioned she had reached this position due to the support of the people and that she would do all that is necessary to help in the overall development of Nepal. She said she is an easy person to work with and requested all to cooperate for the betterment of the country. The minister further added the only self-interest she has is in the development of the nation.

The energy minister also stated she has no prejudice against anyone or any work but would like to get things done in a result-oriented manner. She advised the concerned officials to always set a target and move ahead accordingly.

Minister Bhusal mentioned her focus would be on ending the problem of load-shedding forever and also providing electricity to people who do not have access to the service. She added Nepal is an agricultural country and she would work on providing irrigation facilities to farmers throughout the year.

At present, many places in the country are suffering from floods and landslides so the ministry will coordinate with concerned authorities to minimise such natural disasters, she added.
