Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, inspected the flood hit area here Saturday.
He arrived here to learn about the status of people who were affected by the flood at Barahachhetra Municipality 6 and 8. The flo0d occurred after the Saptakoshi River changed its course following the incessant rainfall.
Meeting the people suffering from the flood, Minister Karki informed that the government had announced the area as crisis hit zone, and necessary relief materials would be distributed soon.
The Minister garnered further information from Chief District Officer and Police Chief about the loss and damages caused by the flood and rescue works.
Earlier, at a programme organized at Prakashpur, Minister Karki, reminded that government was focused on creating jobs to youths through the optimum use of information technology.
He said tens of thousands of youths were forced to foreign employment for not having any opportunity within the country, the Minister claimed the government was planning various schemes for ending this serious problem
