Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Linanath Shrestha, pledging his cooperation to the Judiciary Committees set up in all local units, assured that there will not be any issues for the Committees to delivery to the best of their capacity.

At an interaction organized by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs at Siraha district today, Minister Shrestha said that he will do all possible to make sure that those Committees will never experience lack of physical infrastructures and human resources sources.

Shrestha urged the office-bearers and staffers of those committees attending the interaction to work in compliance of acts, rules and laws. Appealing them not to give in to any external influences and pressure, he attributed the underperformance of those Committees to the lack of strong willpower of the staffers.

He informed that the request had been made with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration to open a vacancy for an officer in the committees.

Similarly, District Coordination Committee Siraha Chief Ramchandra Thakur viewed that a lot of people were still ignorant of the existence and services of the Judiciary Committee in lack of awareness about it.

Chief District Officer in Siraha district Pradeepraj Kandel said that the officer-bearers of the Committees were not being able to effectively exercise the authority enshrined by the Local Government Operation Act-2074 BS. He underscored more training for the office-bearers of the Committee.

The interaction programme was attended by the office-bearers of the Judiciary Committees of 17 local units in Siraha. The participants also included media persons and representatives of the quasi-judicial bodies in the district.
