Minister Thapa to carry on with programmes developed by erstwhile leaderships

Newly appointed Minister for Communications and Information Technology Nainkala Thapa has issued a directive to all the staff to focus on works so as to achieve the ministry’s goals and targets within the stipulated time.

In a meeting with the Heads of various Departments and Divisions of the Ministry on Friday, Minister Thapa urged them for their effective performance to meet the objectives of the Ministry‘s programmes as announced in the new budget on May 29.

Instructing the staff to work in a result-oriented manner, Thapa encouraged, ‘‘We only can gauge how much attention we have given to our works. Hence, work to your heart’s content first.”

She also reaffirmed her commitment to giving continuity to those programmes put forward by the erstwhile leadership in the Ministry. The Minister also shared that she was preparing to introduce some new programmes aimed at further enhancing the Ministry’s public service delivery.

She was of the confidence that Nepal could make a stride leveraging information and technology. On the occasion, the Heads of the Department and Divisions apprised the newly appointed Minister of the ongoing works undertaken by their respective departments and their future action plans as well as the agendas.
