Missing girl's body found in Chitwan

A woman died in Chitwan due to coronavirus within 23 hours of the husband passing away due to the contagion.

A woman who had gone missing has been found dead in Bhramasthani Community Forest in Rapti Municipality of Chitwan district on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Sujita Bhandari (23), a local resident of Rapti Municipality-3 in the district.

She had been missing since 6 am on June 25. Bhandari, who was on her way to a friend's house at 6 am, had been missing since that day. According to the victim's family, Bhandari had called her sister at 12 pm that day and said she was being kidnapped.

Locals who had gone to the forest to gather mushrooms saw her body and informed the police. The body was found in a decomposed state in a bush, the police said.

Meanwhile, DSP Surya Thapa,  Spokesperson of District Police Office, Chitwan, informed that a bottle containing a white liquid was found near the body and details are yet to be ascertained as the body has not been removed from the site. DSP Thapa stated that the body had still not been removed from the crime scene because the site where the body was discovered also needs to be studied.

Chief District Officer, Premlal Lamichhane, informed that the case is being investigated by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
