Due to the torrential rains this morning, most places in Janakpurdham Sub-metropolis have been inundated. The roads have been flooded with rainwater that has gushed into many government offices and also inundated a few houses.
The historical Barhabigha Ground, airport, Office of the Provincial Chief, and Office of the Council of Ministers have been submerged due to the heavy rains. The provincial hospital, District Police Office, Directorate of Public Health of Province 2, and the building of the Chamber of Commerce have also been flooded.
The Asian Development Bank has been providing financial and technical assistance for the urban development programme in Janakpurdham. The roads in the sub-metropolis are being widened under this programme. Most areas have been inundated because the sub-metropolis does not have a proper drainage system.
