A delegation led by Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security, Krishna Kumar Shrestha, paid an official visit to Malaysia. He has held a bilateral meeting with Saravan. During the meeting, both sides lauded the historical fraternal relationship between Nepal and Malaysia, which was further strengthened by the presence of Nepali youth in the Malaysian labor market.
During the meeting, Nepal and Malaysia signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2018 to implement the current bilateral MoU more effectively, and to provide more employment opportunities for Nepali youth.
Extensive discussions were held on the issue of further strengthening the health, social security and social welfare of Nepali citizens employed in Malaysia, and arranging insurance facilities as well. They also talked about Nepali workers’ awareness of their rights and the conditions they have to abide by before entering Malaysia.
During the meeting, Minister Shrestha thanked his Nepali counterpart and also agreed to hold the third meeting of the Joint Labor Task Force between Nepal and Malaysia in Kathmandu soon.
