Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has stressed on promoting mutual goodwill and unity for fulfilling the nation's agenda.
Addressing a security-related discussions and interaction programme organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs here today, he said goodwill and tolerance is needed for protecting sovereignty, integrity and social and economic transformation while mutual unity is required for fulfilling the development journey.
DPM and Home Minister Shrestha underscored the need of maintaining unity and law and order in society, adding that an amiable environment should be created from the political level to resolve the challenges seen in the country. He maintained that a new environment needed to be built for national consensus.
DPM Shrestha suggested promoting tolerance for maintaining unity in the ethnic, linguistic and cultural aspects through consultations with all sides. He stressed on building cordial relations among all political parties to protect the achievements gained from the long sacrifices and struggle of the Nepali people.
The chiefs of the security bodies and the chief district officers from the six districts of Koshi province, the chief of the Province Police Office, the chief of the Armed Police Force Provincial Office, the province chief of the National Investigation Department, representatives and chiefs of the business enterprises and civil society participated in the discussions cum interaction programme.
