Head coach of the Nepali national football team, Abdullah Al Mutairi, today offered his apology for making a misleading statement in an interview with online media in July.

"I took a stance and talked about some topics which I should have done well," he said. The head coach asserted that while speaking about the Nepal national team and its players, his intentions were simply to tell where and how the team and other Asian countries developed in football in the last three decades.

"Following up with some of my loving and supporting football family in the past few days, I have realised that my version has caused some wrongly speaking perpetuates, and for that, I am so deeply sorry," Abdullah wrote on his Facebook wall.

He has said that he apologises to all the Nepali people and especially to all the former players and coaches or anyone who misunderstood his intentions.

He has shared, "I assume that I don’t hold any ill will towards anyone. I take pride in Nepal and Nepali football and its journey to this."

Earlier, addressing Nepali football fans, the Kuwaiti national on Social media, Facebook, had announced that he was going to resign alleging that Pankaj BIkram Nembang, vice-president of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), had been pressurising him.
