The programmes scheduled today under the final day of the BP Literary Festival organised by the Nepali Congress have been put off over the demise of Constituent Assembly Chair, former Speaker and CPN (UML) Vice Chairperson, Subash Chandra Nembang.
According to party chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, at a meeting chaired by party joint general secretary and festival preparations committee coordinator, Badri Prasad Pandey, the party decided to put off the today's session of the event, mourning the loss of leader Nembang.
During the meeting, tributes were paid to the late leader, extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and relatives, and to the CPN (UML). Pandey said the meeting decided not to organise today's programmes under the festival, paying due reverence to the CA Chairman who passed away 1:40 am today due to a heart attack at the age of 71.
Information about the new schedule under the three-day programme will be provided through a notice, it is said. ---
