UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal, Hanna Singer-Hamdy, and Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha, discussed issues Nepal could put forth in the coming UN General Assembly.
NPC Vice Chairman Dr Shrestha informed that discussions were being held on how necessary financial, technical and mutual assistance could be ensured to meet development goals. "Discussion was held on how SDGs could be achieved and forwarded in the remaining years," Shrestha shared.
Similarly, UN Resident Coordinator Hanna viewed that the UN wants Nepal's welfare. Despite challenges, Nepal's strategic efforts to graduate from LDCs are laudable, she observed.
The UN is interested in extending all sorts of assistance and coordination for Nepal's efforts to be graduated to the status of developing country, she added.
Vice Chairman Dr Shrestha extended gratitude to the UN for its continued assistance to Nepal's development.
