The Nepali Congress (NC) has said the incident that took place at Baglung’s Baldedhuri sharing border with Gulmi and Pyuthan on Sunday is highly condemnable.
Issuing a press statement today, NC Central Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has demanded a fair investigation into the scuffle which ended in the tragic deaths of two youths. The party wants to be sure whether the incident was accidental or deliberate, the statement said.
Prakash Kunwar (37) and Deepak Damai (29) of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-7 died in a clash ensured during the celebrations of the Holi festival. It has been reported that they were thrown from the cliff after the clash. Kunwar was NC Baglung District member while Damai was an active member of the party.
The bodies of the deceased were found about 400 meters below a cliff and it is not clear whether they were thrown from the cliff after killing them or shoved alive, the party said in the statement.
The party has drawn the government’s serious attention towards taking prompt action to arrest the guilty in the crime.
NC district President Deependra Bahadur Thapa and former President Prakash Sharma Poudel reached the incident site this morning to take stock of the situation and meet the bereaved families, the party’s central Spokesperson said.
Earlier, issuing a press statement, NC, Baglung district also demanded a fair investigation into the brawl that took place in Badigad Rural Municipality of Baglung.
The NC Baglung, said that its attention has been drawn towards the clash taken place at Baldedhuri, the border of Badigad rural municipality and Nisikhola rural municipality of Baglung district where two persons died and some youths are still out of contact.
The press release issued by District President, Dipendra Bahadur Thapa, mentions that serious attention of the party has been drawn towards the incident.
