Nepali Congress steps ahead in Dadeldhura

Out of the seven municipalities of Dadeldhura, the results of six municipalities have been made public. According to the Election Office, the Nepali Congress has won in four of the six constituencies while the CPN (Maoist Center) has won in two of them.

The Nepali Congress has won the post of ward chief and deputy chief in the district headquarters of Amargadhi Municipality-10. In Amargadhi, Congress' Dilli Raj Joshi and Deputy Chief Parvati Jhukal won. Joshi won the chief with 3,619 votes and Jhukal won the deputy chief with 3,678 votes. A total of 9,792 votes were cast in Amargadhi.

Similarly, Hemraj Chataut and Pushpa Thakurathi of Nepali Congress have won in Bhageshwor village municipality of the district. Nepali Congress candidate Hemraj Chataut has won the Bhageshwor village chief post with 2,311 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Communist Party of Nepal (UML) candidate Ram Bahadur Shahi by 1,233 votes.

Defeated Ram Bahadur Shahi got 1,078 votes while Pushpa Thakurathi got 2,348 votes. His nearest rival Geeta Bhatta of the Maoists got 832 votes. In Bhageshwor, the Nepali Congress has won in the municipality with four wards.

Similarly, Indra Karki and Gyanu Sethi of the Nepali Congress have won in Ganyapadhura. In Navdurga municipality too, Congress has won two wards including Laxmi Prasad Awasthi and Nirmala Bista Bogati.

CPN-Maoist's Umesh Prasad Bhatt has emerged victorious in Ajayameru municipality. Bhatt has won again for the second term. Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) candidate Umesh Prasad Bhatt won the Ajaymeru village chief post with 2,469 votes. Congress candidate Basanti Pal has won the vice-president's post with 2,565 votes.
