The Nepali Embassy in South Africa has requested to go there only after obtaining a work permit in accordance with the prevailing laws of the Government of Nepal.
According to the official gazette of South Africa, there is a legal provision to employ foreign nationals only in cases where the positions of 140 types of skilled manpower requiring special knowledge and skills are not filled by native citizens.
The embassy has requested that if you go to South Africa for foreign employment in such positions, you should only go with a work permit in accordance with the prevailing laws of the Government of Nepal.
The Embassy has drawn attention to the fact that millions of rupees are being taken from Nepali citizens under the illusion that they will be offered jobs in South Africa with attractive salaries and facilities and that it will be easy to go to Europe and America from there.
Such Nepali citizens are brought to South Africa through various cities of India (New Delhi, Mumbai), United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Tanzania, Mozambique, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Rwanda, Congo, and other countries and are left stranded. In some cases, the cases of being left in extreme conditions in those transit countries are increasing, according to the embassy.
The embassy has requested to be aware of such illegal activities, as the act of engaging in foreign employment or other similar temptations and taking a large amount of money to bring a person to a foreign country is punishable by law. Since the tourist visa issued by the High Commissioner and Consulate General of South Africa in India is only for the purpose of coming to South Africa on a tourism tour, it is not possible to engage in employment work here on the basis of that visa.
Since it is illegal to engage in any kind of employment while on a tourist visa, the relevant South African authorities arrest and deport the persons involved in such activities and punish and fine them in accordance with the law.
The embassy said that since a visa from the respective country is required to go to any country, it is confusing and false that it is easy to go from South Africa to Europe, America, etc.
