Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has informed that no Nepalis have been harmed by the devastating earthquake in Turkey on Monday. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred near the Syrian border in the southern part of Turkey. According to NRNA, there are 2,000 to 2,500 Nepali living in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, and Bodurmalgat.
According to the association, there are only a few Nepali in Gaziantep, which is near the epicenter of the earthquake, Syrian Borden. Some of them have even come in contact with Nepalese. The Nepalis who came in contact informed that no Nepali has been affected by the earthquake so far and that everyone is safe. NRNA mentioned that more details are being collected. The association has also requested any Nepali in Turkey to contact them if they are in trouble due to the earthquake.
