Kamal Bahadur Shah, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, will take the oath of office and secrecy today. Chief of Shah's secretariat Ram Bahadur Bista informed that the program for Shah to take the oath of office and secrecy from the provincial chief Devraj Joshi during a special ceremony to be held at the provincial chief's office has been announced. Shah was appointed as the chief minister of a major party in accordance with clause (3) of article 168 of the constitution by the state chief on Thursday. On December 27, Rajendrasinh Rawal, who was appointed as the Chief Minister with the support of UML, Maoist, Civil Liberation Party, and RPP, submitted his resignation to the provincial head after failing to get a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly. After he
submitted his resignation, Shah was appointed Chief Minister.
The newly appointed Chief Minister Shah has prepared to expand the small-sized cabinet today. Chief Minister Shah said that discussions are underway to appoint two ministers, one from Congress and one from CPN (Unified Socialist). But the matter of who will be made minister is being discussed, but it is yet to be decided.
