Newly appointed Ministers committed to development

The newly appointed Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Mahindra Raya Yadav, has said the agriculture sector is a strong basis for the country's economy.

Assuming his office at the Ministry on Friday, Minister Yadav expressed commitment to forward the agro sector in a scientific way and to provide subsidies to the farmers citing the pandemic situation.

He directed the employees to play an active role in resolving problems after identifying the problems of the agro sector.

Secretaries Dr Krishna Prasad Acharya and Dr Govinda Sharma, Joint-Secretary Prakash Sanjel, Under-Secretary Tek Prasad Luintel, among others welcomed Minister Yadav at the Ministry.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Minister for Youth and Sports, Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj, also assumed his office. On the occasion, he expressed commitment to help in the development of the sports sector.

A team led by the Joint-Secretary of the Ministry, Bishnu Raj Dhakal, welcomed the Minister at the Ministry.

The newly appointed Minister for Forest and Environment, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, has said conservation of Chure area is indispensable to stop desertification of Terai.

Directing the employees after assuming the office at the Ministry on Friday, Minister Yadav stressed the need for conserving the Chure area because it is a base of the storehouse of the country's food grains.

He also expressed his view that necessary policy and plan would be taken forward as per the government's common minimum program, saying the Ministry is connected to people's daily life.

The Minister also stressed the collective efforts to protect biodiversity.
