Nepal Police has requested not to sell and distribute petroleum products openly.
It has been requested not to sell petroleum products openly, unsafely transported and stored in houses and shops, as there will be fire and human and material damage.
Spokesman of the District Police Office Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Dineshraj Mainali said that highly inflammable substances in bottles, jerkin, etc. have been openly sold and distributed in some petrol pumps in Kathmandu recently and has requested the petrol pump operators to stop it immediately.
The police said that the owners have been informed not to openly sell and distribute petroleum products except for directly filling the vehicles from the petrol pump.
The police released the information after a young man attempted to self-immolate by pouring petrol on his body in front of the parliament building in Naya Baneshwar, Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon.
